4 Tips for Navigating Transitions and Staying Positive

This moment of time is for big changes. Ironically, it is a time of transition for me and many of those around me. We don’t have to feel so alone in the transition. If something is no longer working and doesn’t feel right, well then it’s time to switch things up. But how?

What is next for you?

I’ve always been a creative, entrepreneurial spirit, so alongside my coaching biz, I am enjoying helping people find homes they love as a licensed real estate agent. I’ve never subscribed to being or doing one thing and I welcome that creative, playful side with my clients, whether they are creatives or corporate. Work/Life balance is a necessary thing. Yet often times our society insists we focus on one thing. I get that. I do kind of wish I was like that but I am not and as we've all learned the hard way….comparison kills all joy!!!

Life is about ebbs and flows and as the Buddha says, life is impermanent. Nothing ever stays the same. So we must cherish what we do have in the moment, even when life gets hard. During transitions it’s easy to feel lost with the lack of clarity. So what to do in order to stay positive and focused?

Four Tips on Navigating Transitions and Staying Positive…

1. Commit to Your Miracle Mornings

  • Meditation… I’ve been really into the teachings of Dr. Joe Dispenza. Sooo interesting and transformational. Check out this link for some eye-opening awareness.

  • Prayer…yes, it’s good to do both prayer and meditation in unison.

  • Exercise…this is a struggle for me to stay committed but it’s vital. Especially as we age, I heard that weight training and maintaining muscle is more important than ever.

  • Gratitude Practice... State 5 things you are grateful for and WHY every day. I say this all the time, but it’s powerful work.

2. Create structure…..a slice of productivity can work wonders.

  • Plan out your days in advance.

  • Schedule to-do’s in your calendar with alerts to remind you

  • Have support to hold you accountable to your goals….this works wonders

3. Tap into your creativity…take some time to look within and then take some action with fun on the mind. Read, write, explore, have fun.

4. Reach out for support. Whether it’s friends, accountability partners, coaches, therapists or mentors.

All of this is not necessarily easy, but it’s possible. We just have to be patient with ourselves.
